106 Years Men-Tsee-Khang Celebration

Men-Tsee-Khang (MTK) marked its 106th anniversary on 23rd March 2022 since its establishment in Lhasa, Tibet, in 1916 and 61st anniversary since its re-establishment in Dharamsala, India. Mr. Palden Dhondup, the Secretary of the Department of Health, Central Tibetan Administration, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, with Mr. Lobsang Jinpa, Secretary of Office of His Holiness the Dalai Lama as the special guest. Members of the governing body of MTK were among the other guests present.

The Chief Guest inaugurated the celebration by lighting the ceremonial butter lamp offered to the portrait of H.H the Dalai Lama, followed by a prayer ceremony. Mr. Thupten Tsering, the Director of Men-Tsee-Khang, gave an inaugural speech and briefed an annual report, whereas the chief guest and the special guest addressed the gathering with words of advice. The guests and the staff enjoyed the cultural dance performances by Men-Tsee-Khang (MTK) College students.

MTK staff who had completed 20 & 30 years of their service at Men-Tsee-Khang were honored at the gathering, while the rank holders among the MTK College were applauded and were awarded certificates by the chief guest. Apart from that, five new books published by different departments of Men-Tsee-Khang were also launched. Mr. Tsering Phuntsok, the General Secretary of Men-Tsee-Khang, concluded the ceremony by delivering a vote of thanks to the guests, staff and students.
