The Annual Spring Festival at the Dari ground in Dharamsala, organized by Himachal Tourism in collaboration with various organizations, took place from February 25th to 29th, 2024. This year’s event highlighted the rich cultures and traditions of Dharamsala, featuring exhibitions on medicine, art, poetry, local cuisine, music, and dance.
Men-Tsee-Khang, renowned for its traditional holistic healthcare, was among the participants. With the goal of offering Tibetan healthcare services to the community, Men-Tsee-Khang conducted a successful medical camp during the festival. Led by Dr. Tenzin Lungtok from the Men-Tsee-Khang Sowa-Rigpa Medical College & Hospital, along with two dispensary staff members, Kalsang Choedon and Jigmey Lhamo, the camp provided consultations and herbal products, such as oils, medicinal teas, cosmetics, and health supplements, which attracted significant interest from attendees.
Dr. Lungtok consulted approximately 30 patients, offering free medication and health advice to promote well-being among festival-goers. The festival served as a platform to deliver healthcare services, including medical assistance and education on traditional Tibetan medicine, to the local community.
