Men-Tsee-Khang held a memorial prayer service yesterday afternoon, to mourn the sad demise of Mrs. Youdon la, a retired staff of Men-Tsee-Khang after a prolonged illness.
Mrs. Youdon la was born on 1st July 1968 in Lhasa, Tibet. She came to exile in 1987 and received training in tailoring for two years in Dickyiling Tibetan settlement. On 29th November 1994, she joined Men-Tsee-Khang and served at our Pharmacy department as a cleaner or extractor of raw materials on a contractual basis. She was appointed as a permanent staff of this institute on 1st February 2001 and was transferred to our herbal product research department. Thereafter, she was transferred to job pool on 2nd December 2019. On 3rd January 2023, she was transferred back to the herbal product research department.
Due to ill health, she sought early retirement from her service and was officially granted retirement on 1st February 2023. She had been undergoing treatment for a long time and at last succumbed to her illness on 20th October 2024, at Delek Hospital, Dharamshala.
The deceased had served Men-Tsee-Khang for 21 long years with sheer dedication and sincerity.
The prayer service was attended by the Culture Director, General Secretary, heads of departments, and staff of Men-Tsee-Khang. General Secretary, Mr. Dhondup Palden la briefed a biography of the deceased, offering heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family on behalf of the staff of Men-Tsee-Khang.
