Men-Tsee-Khang held a memorial prayer service this afternoon to mourn the passing of Gyalo Thondup la, elder brother of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama and former Kalon Tripa (head of the Tibetan Government in Exile), who passed away on February 8, 2025, at his residence in Kalimpong.

Born in 1928 in Taktser, Amdo Province, Tibet, Gyalo Thondup la played an important role in the Tibetan freedom struggle. His lifelong dedication to the Tibetan cause will continue to inspire generations to come.
