How to support a TMAI Child

Tibetan Medical & Astrological Institute of H.H. the Dalai Lama, better known as Men-Tsee-Khang was established in Dharamsala, India in 1961 to practice, preserve and promote Tibet’s age-old tradition of holistic medicine and astrology. Since its establishment the staff of Men-Tsee-Khang has been working tirelessly to provide for the ever increasing demand of traditional Tibetan medicine to thousands of people all over the world. We offer free and concessional health care to great numbers of poor and needy people. Even though the cost of producing Tibetan medicine is quite high, the cost to patients is kept low in order to assure its accessibility.

Because salaries of Men-Tsee-Khang staff are modest, we started a sponsorship programme for staff children in order that they might receive a proper education and other basic needs. So far many individuals and organizations who are admirers of Tibetan culture and especially those who are interested in or who have benefited from Tibetan medicine have come forward and contributed generously to this program. We have more than five hundred Tibetan employees, so the number of children is increasing with each passing year.

We hereby appeal to our friends and supporters to help us by sponsoring a child by contributing US$ 20 or Euro 18 or INR 20K per month. In this way you can change his or her life forever. In return you can keep in direct touch with the child and spark a friendship of a lifetime.

Duration: – As per the Sponsorship Policy of this institute for staff children, we do not seek sponsorship beyond senior secondary school level (12th class). However, if sponsors wish to continue their sponsorship beyond 12th class, then they are kindly requested to not do this through Men-Tsee-Khang, but by directly contacting the parents of the child or children they are sponsoring.

Mode of Payment: You may send your sponsorship support money, half yearly or yearly, as per your convenience. Please send the money/cheque in favour of Men-Tsee-Khang. Our bank details are:
