Men-Tsee-Khang Observes Year of Compassion with Nationwide Medical Outreach

In celebration of the Year of Compassion, marking the 90th Birthday of His Holiness the Great 14th Dalai Lama, Men-Tsee-Khang carried out a series of meaningful programs throughout this year aimed at promoting health, awareness, and compassion in society.
The year-long observance featured public advisory videos on “Seasonal Diet and Lifestyle Guidance,” health talks by doctors from branch clinics across various cities and Tibetan settlements, the publication and free distribution of books on compassion, and the organisation of free medical camps for the public.

As part of the initiative, Men-Tsee-Khang planned two free medical camps at each branch clinic. More than 30 branch clinics conducted the first round of camps on different dates in July 2025 to mark the auspicious birthday of His Holiness the Dalai Lama. The second round was organised on various dates in December and January, commemorating the 36th anniversary of His Holiness receiving the Nobel Peace Prize.
Through these camps, over five thousand patients benefited from free medical consultations, medicines and external therapies. Books on Compassion by His Holiness the Dalai Lama were also distributed free of cost. The camps were open to all irrespective of nationality, caste, or background, reflecting Men-Tsee-Khang’s continued commitment to service and compassionate healthcare.
A total of Rs. 16,50,147 was spent during the medical camps.

The occasion marked an important step toward improving staff welfare and strengthening facilities at the branch clinic.
