From November 10 to 11, 2025, His Eminence Jhado Rinpoche, former Abbot of Namgyal Monastery, graciously bestowed the Yuthok Nyingtik empowerment upon approximately 300 participants, including Men-Tsee-Khang’s medical and astrological practitioners, students, and devotees from various backgrounds at the Men-Tsee-Khang College Hall. As requested by Men-Tsee-Khang the previous year, His Eminence not only graciously agreed to bestow the Yuthok

Nyingthik empowerment but also guided and advised us throughout the preparation process, responding to all our queries with compassion and clarity.

On the morning of the 10th, His Eminence Jhado Rinpoche and his entourage were warmly welcomed by Men-Tsee-Khang Executive Director Mr. Thupten Tsering, Cultural Director Dr. Tsering Norbu, Personal Physician to His Holiness the Dalai Lama Dr. Tsewang Tamdin, and General Secretary Mr. Dhondup Palden. The ceremony commenced with His Eminence lighting butter lamps before the sacred image of His Holiness the Dalai Lama. Dr. Tsering Norbu then delivered a brief introduction to the program before the preparatory rituals for the empowerment began.

The book Yuthok Nyingthik, which was compiled and published by the Documentation and Publication Department in accordance with His Eminence’s suggestions and guidance from the previous year, was then officially launched by His Eminence.

Over the course of two mornings, His Eminence conducted the preliminary practices for the Yuthok Nyingtik empowerment, which included an introduction to the Yuthok Nyingtik empowerment, the greatness of the Secret Mantra Vajrayana, and the importance of its practice and teachings. His Eminence also spoke about the lineage of the empowerments he has received. In the afternoons, the main empowerment was conferred, including the introduction and explanation of the root mantras. His Eminence also provided detailed teachings on the empowerments along with advice on what to adopt and avoid, beginning with taking refuge and generating Bodhicitta.

After the successful completion of the empowerment, His Eminence expressed his appreciation for the meticulous organization of the empowerment. Subsequently, the Cultural Director presented a mandala offering to His Eminence, and the Director of Men-Tsee-Khang offered a statue of the revered Yuthok Mahaguna and gifted precious pills to His Eminence and his entourage as a token of gratitude. The Cultural Director then delivered a concluding speech, expressing deep appreciation to His Eminence. He highlighted that Men-Tsee-Khang had previously hosted the Yuthok Nyingthig empowerment three times, with His Eminence Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche, His Eminence Khamtrul Rinpoche, and His Eminence Taklung Tsetrul Rinpoche. Since many doctors from the 17th batch onward had not yet received the empowerment, this empowerment was specifically organized for them under the guidance of Jhado Rinpoche. Thus, it has become a tradition that all doctors of Men-Tsee-Khang receive the Yuthok Nyingthig empowerment.

Finally, all those who received the empowerment lined up for an audience with His Eminence Jhado Rinpoche, with offering and khata. His Eminence did not accept any of the offerings personally, and donated all to Men-Tsee-Khang.

The Yuthok Nyingtik empowerment concluded in a meaningful and auspicious manner.
